Transportation

Living in the city (especially Pasadena) one can easily get around without a car – thanks to buses, trains and bike lanes. Within walking distance of the homestead we can easily get to library, stores, museums, metro train and the lovely San Gabriel mountains with endless hiking trails..

In 2003, with the help of some local bio fuel enthusiasts, built an reactor using recycled & hard ware materials and an old electric water heater to brew biodiesel to power our diesel car.

Using Maria Alovert’s “Appleseed” plans with a few space saving modifications part of our garage was turned into our own fueling station.

With our local restaurant connections (we sell our organic produce to them) we were able to obtain free waste oil that we turn into homebrewed biodiesel.
